Last updated: June 8, 2026
By accessing or using the ExerciseDB API, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you access the API on behalf of a company, organization, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these terms.
1. Ownership of Data and Content
All data and content served by the ExerciseDB API are the exclusive property of ExerciseDB API. This includes, but is not limited to, text, images, animations, exercise metadata, and any other media provided through the API.
2. Usage Rights
Subscribers with a valid subscription are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the data and content provided by the ExerciseDB API. This license is strictly limited to the duration of the subscription period and is subject to the terms outlined in this agreement.
3. Termination of Subscription
Upon termination, cancellation, expiration, or non-payment of the subscription, all rights to use the data and content from the ExerciseDB API are immediately revoked. Subscribers must cease all use of the data and content and delete any stored data obtained from the API.
4. Caching
Caching of data and content from the ExerciseDB API is strictly prohibited. All data and content must be freshly requested from the API for each use. Subscribers are not allowed to store, archive, mirror, scrape, download in bulk, or otherwise retain copies of the data and content for future use.
5. Prohibited Uses
Subscribers are prohibited from redistributing, reselling, sublicensing, publishing, transferring, or otherwise making available the data and content provided by the ExerciseDB API to any third party. Subscribers may not use the API, data, or content to create a competing product, database, dataset, API, marketplace listing, or substantially similar service.
Subscribers may not use the API, data, or content to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or enrich machine learning models or artificial intelligence systems without prior written permission from ExerciseDB API.
The use of data and content must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
6. API Keys and Account Security
Subscribers are responsible for keeping API keys, credentials, and account access secure. API keys may not be shared, sold, exposed publicly, embedded in publicly accessible source code, or transferred to another user or account.
Subscribers are responsible for all activity associated with their API keys and accounts, including unauthorized use resulting from failure to protect credentials.
7. Rate Limits, Abuse, and Service Integrity
Subscribers must comply with all plan limits, rate limits, technical limits, and usage policies communicated through the subscription platform or API documentation.
ExerciseDB API may suspend, throttle, revoke, or block access if usage appears abusive, harmful, automated beyond intended use, security-sensitive, or inconsistent with these terms.
Subscribers may not interfere with, disrupt, reverse engineer, probe, scan, stress test, bypass restrictions on, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the API, infrastructure, systems, or related services.
8. Attribution and Presentation
Subscribers may not remove, obscure, or misrepresent any copyright, ownership, attribution, or proprietary notices associated with the API, data, or content. Subscribers may not imply that ExerciseDB API endorses, sponsors, or is affiliated with a subscriber application unless expressly authorized in writing.
9. API Changes and Availability
ExerciseDB API may modify, suspend, discontinue, or limit access to any endpoint, feature, data, content, schema, response, or service at any time. ExerciseDB API does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, continued compatibility, or error-free operation of the API.
10. No Warranties
The ExerciseDB API, data, and content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. ExerciseDB API disclaims all warranties, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and availability.
Subscribers are solely responsible for reviewing, testing, and determining whether the API, data, and content are suitable for their intended use.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ExerciseDB API will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, or service availability arising out of or related to use of the API, data, or content.
12. Indemnification
Subscribers agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ExerciseDB API and its owners, operators, affiliates, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to subscriber use of the API, violation of these terms, violation of applicable law, or infringement or misuse of third-party rights.
13. Third-Party Platform Terms
If the API is accessed through RapidAPI or another third-party platform, subscribers must also comply with that platform's applicable terms, policies, billing rules, and subscription requirements. These Terms of Use apply in addition to any third-party platform terms.
14. Changes to the Terms
ExerciseDB API reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Any changes will be communicated to subscribers or posted in the documentation, and continued use of the API after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
